STATEMENT
Angela Chalmers
Angela uses the process of painting and printmaking to explore the human form. Her work evolves through a method of pouring and dripping a limited palette of earth-coloured inks onto textural handmade papers. The water-based media is allowed to flow, alchemically marbling into organic form and line.
Angela often paints small studies that act as preliminary work for larger paintings and draws inspiration from sculpture and friezes from ancient cultures.
